Angry? What could anyone possibly have to be angry about, eh?
Well, somehow I’ve found something.

The title made me think of harder songs, but I know that’s not your style. Still like it, and the lyrics on bandcamp, but may I ask what is the blue and brown? Google only brings up the books. And while I’m asking, who’s Joe?
Hey Scoakat! Who is Joe? Who is Joe? Mr.Strummer, the only Joe that matters! And once you know which Joe, you know whose songs to look into….
You youngsters! 😉
I’m guessing you’re not a Clash fan or you’d probably recognise the blue and brown from the lyrics of one of their finest, “Clampdown”….covered also by Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and Springsteen. I see Wikipedia has a not bad page on it so I shall not try and out-do their interpretation, seems pretty spot on…
….now I come to think of it, no-one else has asked about the blue and brown and I’m pretty sure most of those who have discussed the song with me don’t know. So, thanks for asking!
I like to hear the backstories, I guess. I figured some sort of uniform or clothing, I did just go look it up on Wiki, thanks!
Yes, the Clash was big on radio as I was growing up. About the time that song came out I had yet to really explore or get deep into music, except for maybe Kiss and the Bay City Rollers. I had no older siblings to learn from and my parents weren’t very into music. Later in my teens I began my journey of musical exploration and appreciation in earnest, starting with metal but branching out the older I get. I’m sure you’ve seen a variety of my interests now, and I’m always open to the next discovery!
And I’m happy to provide the back stories where I can…sometimes they’re a bit vague but this one I’ve been wanting to write for a while.
Snap with the lack of music at home, my parents had very little either. Luckily there was an aunt who’d been a big Beatles fan so at least there were a couple of their albums……and some Sinatra I think.
Good to keep the horizons open for new discoveries. 🙂
